Inspection overview
Verify closure application from top and side
A side view can measure cap height and seating relative to the container, while a top view can check presence, colour, shape, print and selected orientation features. Multiple views remove blind spots on complex closures.
For tamper bands, induction foils, liners or plugs, the inspection position is chosen where the feature is visible. Some components need to be checked before the final closure is applied because conventional vision cannot see through an opaque cap.
Checks that can be combined
The final inspection set is selected from the visible features, risk, product presentation and achievable image resolution.
- Cap or closure presence
- Cap height, tilt and seating
- Correct cap colour, type and diameter
- Tamper-band presence and visible continuity
- Pump, trigger or spout orientation
- Visible liner, plug or insert presence
- Closure print or code verification
- Missing or double-closure conditions
Application details we review
Early clarity on these points helps avoid false rejects, blind spots and mechanical changes late in the project.
- Closure geometry and reflective finish
- Bottle height and neck variation
- Capping-head and conveyor tolerances
- Feature visibility before and after capping
- Cap orientation requirements
- Reject distance and bottle stability
Set tolerances from real closure variation
Good and failed samples are measured under controlled imaging so limits reflect an acceptable process—not an idealised drawing alone.
Feasibility work establishes the camera view, lens, light, exposure and image-processing approach. We then define the enclosure, conveyor changes, controls, operator interface and rejection needed for production.
